The objective of this project was to design a sustainable and integrated closure system for two tailings
dumps at the Coimolache Mining Unit (Perú).
The following activities were carried out for this purpose:
Sampling and characterisation of existing materials (soils, water, rocks and sediments).
Evaluation of risks and recovery needs, as well as internal materials that would serve as inputs in
Technosols elaboration.
Evaluation of the natural environment and closure strategy design associated with the hydrodynamics,
geomorphology, climatic conditions, target vegetative system and projection of its evolutionary trends.
