The aim of this project was to propose a treatment alternative that minimises the generation of leachates in a
landfill made up of household and industrial waste from a Chilean company Ecobio, which belongs to the Volta
Group at its plant in Chillán (Chile).
- The following activities were carried out:
- Sampling and biogeochemical characterisation of the waste.
- Design and formulation of cover (Tecnosoles) suitable for closure with the waste itself.
- Design of an agroforestry system for the closure area, attributing an added value to the project.
